Three different decks won the latest YCS events, while KONAMI says a larger tournament driven Genesys points update is coming next.
The Genesys Snapshot
- Format leader: KONAMI says Blitzclique is currently the most used and most successful Genesys deck, rising from about 11% representation at YCS Montréal to more than 20% at YCS Paris.
- Three YCS winners: Blitzclique won Montréal, Sacred Beasts won Paris, and Fairy Tail won the Latin America Remote Duel YCS.
- What comes next: KONAMI is preparing a larger points update using recent tournament data alongside a first anniversary reevaluation of older point values.
Blitzclique Leads a Varied Field
KONAMI published its August and September Genesys recap on September 28 after three YCS events and more than 60 Regional Qualifiers. Blitzclique has emerged as the leading deck overall, but the results have not produced a single dominant winner. Sacred Beasts has recorded the strongest matchup against Blitzclique, winning nearly two thirds of their recorded matches, while Exosister joined Blitzclique, Sacred Beasts, and Fairy Tail among the most successful decks at Regionals.
“It’s still the wild west out there even though everyone’s pretty much figured out the top Decks of the current format.”
KONAMI, August/September 2026 Genesys Recap
The card usage data is shifting too. Skull Meister was the most played card at every event covered by the recap and approached 60% usage in Europe. Mulcharmy Purulia and Mulcharmy Fuwalos fell to roughly 14% usage at both Montréal and Paris, well below their usage during the earlier Genesys Championship. KONAMI suggested the points required by leading decks may be contributing to that decline, while also noting that Fuwalos does not affect Blitzclique.

Gagaga Girl Gives Exosister a Boost
Magnificent Monsters has already produced one notable Genesys surprise. Gagaga Girl – Cell Phone Subtraction was the most used card from the set during the period, finishing ahead of Orichalcos Sword of Sealing. KONAMI says the card appears to have helped fuel an Exosister resurgence at Regional Qualifiers. That gives one of the newest cards in the format an immediate role inside an established strategy rather than an entirely new deck.

The Next Points List Matters
The timing makes this snapshot especially useful. Beyond the Brave already has its initial Genesys values, but KONAMI says a much larger update based on the last two months of tournament results is coming alongside a reevaluation of some original point values. YCS Ecuador will use the current list, while YCS Houston is expected to use the new adjustments. The next update should give the clearest indication yet of how KONAMI intends to respond to the choices players are making in actual competition.
