PSA Vault Shipping Changes
- What happened: PSA is switching Vault withdrawals to Premium Insured Shipping, with the charge based on the total declared value of each shipment.
- Key date: Oct. 29, 2026, when the new shipping rates start.
- Why it matters: Shipping cost now depends on declared value, and lowering the declared value on an item also lowers its coverage.
New Rates and Fees
In the U.S., shipments under $500 cost $19.99. Shipments valued at $500 to $4,999 cost $24.99, $5,000 to $24,999 cost $42.99, $25,000 to $74,999 cost $57.99, and $75,000 to $299,999 cost $139.99. Shipments of $300,000 or more get a custom quote. Shipments over 10 items add $0.99 for each additional item. International orders pay the applicable U.S. rate plus a handling fee of $24.99 for Canada or $31.99 for other destinations.
If an item is lost or damaged in transit, we’ll compensate you up to the value you entered, not to exceed the item’s fair market value.
PSA
PSA’s earlier FAQ listed U.S. shipping and handling at $5.99 per shipment for up to 50 items, separate from per-card withdrawal fees. Those fees still apply, including a $4.99 early-withdrawal charge per item for cards pulled within 90 days of entering the Vault. PSA has been in the collector-services spotlight recently, as in our report on its parent company deactivating certificates for stolen cards and arranging compensation.
Declared Values and Returns
At checkout, PSA pre-fills each item’s value using its estimate tools and lets collectors adjust it. Since that number sets both the shipping bracket and the coverage, it’s worth a look before you submit a request. The Vault currently accepts encapsulated cards authenticated by PSA, SGC, BGS or CGC, so returned slabs can come back in several brands. Once they’re home, Perfect Fit Sleeves for PSA Graded Slabs (50-Count) gives PSA slabs a clear, resealable sleeve.
The Minimum Fee Stands Out
The jump from $5.99 to a $19.99 starting rate is the detail that will hit smaller withdrawals hardest, since a low-value shipment now costs more than three times the old rate. Bundling cards into fewer shipments looks like the obvious way to spread that cost, and anyone keeping several graded cards together afterward can use something like Graded Trading Card Box (30ct.) for storage.
