The 2027 Preview

  • What happened: Bandai previewed upcoming Digimon Card Game products, including Adventure 02 and Frontier starter decks and the Digimon World booster BT-29.
  • Key date: The preview aired in the October 15, 2026 DigiCa Times, and Bandai recapped it in a producer letter the next day. Products are planned for April 2027 and beyond.
  • Why it matters: It shows how the card game plans to bring several Digimon eras into one anniversary year, with Digimon World getting its own booster.

What Bandai Revealed

Bandai’s producer letter lists two starter decks, one based on Digimon Adventure 02 and one marking the 25th anniversary of Digimon Frontier. It also names BT-29, a booster based on the Digimon World series. Fan reporting on the broadcast puts BT-29 in May 2027 and says it will cover Adventure 02, Frontier and Digimon World, including characters from Digimon World: Next Order. That is the same game whose last big expansion we covered in our look at Timeless Bonds and its Olympos XII DUAL cards.

2027 is shaping up to be a major milestone, as it will be the 30th anniversary of Digimon.

Starter decks are the easiest way into a new theme, and the 2027 decks will follow a format the game already uses. Anyone who wants to see how a current one is built can look at Gallantmon Starter Deck.

Where Current Products Fit

The 2027 products are months away, so players have time to keep up with what’s on shelves now. Release Special Booster Ver.1.5 Booster Box is a current English booster box for readers following the booster side of the game.

A Wide Look Back

The most interesting part is the mix. Putting Digimon World next to Adventure 02 and Frontier means one lineup reaches across games and anime, which suits a franchise with this much history.
