Pokémon Team Masters Sets First TCG Tournament for January 2027 in Korea

Seven supported languages give the new team competition an international scope.

Team Masters Takes Shape

  • The announcement: Pokémon introduced Team Masters, a new tournament featuring team competition, on September 28, 2026.
  • First event: Pokémon Team Masters 2027 in SEOUL is scheduled for January 23 and 24, 2027.
  • Confirmed scope: The inaugural event will feature the card game division.

A Shared Competitive Stage

The official Japanese Pokémon Card Game site lists KINTEX 1, Halls 1 and 2, as the venue. Supported languages are English, Indonesian, Japanese, Korean, Simplified Chinese, Thai, and Traditional Chinese.

“A new arena for challenges where Trainers can connect and share their passion together.”

Pokémon also published a promotional video and directed readers to a dedicated event website. The announcement establishes the event’s identity and location, but does not explain how teammates will compete or how results will be combined.

Deck Rules Still Need Confirmation

Team size, eligibility, registration dates, deck restrictions, scoring, prizes, and qualification implications remain unverified. For readers following products such as the 30th Celebration Booster Bundle and 30th Celebration Elite Trainer Box, the important distinction is between product availability and tournament legality. This announcement does not establish whether cards from that expansion will be eligible.

The Format Is the Next Reveal

A team event could give preparation and coordination a different role in competition. The rules will determine how much that shared approach actually changes the experience.
