Card Spotlight: Toward Our New Future Gives BanG Dream!’s 10th Anniversary a Perfect Chase Card

BanG Dream!’s English 10th anniversary booster gives its only Serial Rare slot to a red Kasumi Climax that already held the flagship rarity in Japan.

Card File

  • TCG: Weiß Schwarz
  • Card: Toward Our New Future, BD/WE49-E40SIR
  • Set: Premium Booster BanG Dream! 10th Anniversary!
  • First released: The Weiß Schwarz card debuted in Japan on September 12, 2025 as BD/WE49-40. The English SIR printing released July 17, 2026.
  • Notable rarity: Serial Rare (SIR), the only SIR in the English release. Its Japanese counterpart, BD/WE49-40A, was the set’s sole first edition AGR.

Behind the Foil

The Toward Our New Future SIR does something unusual for a chase card: it keeps the card type as a Climax while letting Kasumi Toyama dominate the presentation anyway. She leans toward the viewer with one hand extended, smiling in a black stage outfit covered in bright circles, while the pale background gives the gold geometric foil pattern plenty of room. The serial field sits low on the right, away from the effect box, and the large signature-style graphic crosses the lower half without burying Kasumi. For a card trying to look like the centerpiece of an anniversary release, it is surprisingly clean.

All of your characters get +1000 power and +1 soul.

Weiß Schwarz, Toward Our New Future

Toward Our New Future first appeared in Weiß Schwarz’s Japanese Premium Booster on September 12, 2025 as BD/WE49-40, with BD/WE49-40A serving as the set’s only AGR. Bushiroad identifies that first edition AGR as a handwritten autograph card from Aimi, the voice of Kasumi Toyama. The English release followed on July 17, 2026 with BD/WE49-E40SIR taking the lone SIR slot.

The BanG Dream! 10th Anniversary! Premium Booster Display contains six four-card packs, while the full English checklist spans 60 normal cards and 121 parallels. That enormous cast reaches from Poppin’Party through Mugendai MewType, a newer end of the franchise FoilWire recently covered through Mugendai Mewtype’s Palworld OCG concert promos. In a release built to cover so much BanG Dream! history, returning to Kasumi for the singular top rarity feels appropriately deliberate.

Competitive History

Toward Our New Future is a red Climax with a Come Back trigger. While it is in the Climax Zone, all of your characters get +1000 power and +1 soul, and its trigger can return a character from the waiting room to your hand. Its more specific role comes from “Good Moooorning” Kasumi Toyama, BD/WE49-E32, which has a CX Combo tied directly to Toward Our New Future.

With Kasumi in the front row and four other Anniversary and/or Poppin’Party characters on stage, placing this Climax lets you return a character from the waiting room to your hand and put an Anniversary or Poppin’Party character from the waiting room into Stock. The result is a collector centerpiece that still belongs to an actual Kasumi game plan rather than functioning as a detached display variant.

FoilWire Take

I like the decision to spend the lone SIR slot on Toward Our New Future. BanG Dream! could have made the obvious move and elevated one more character card, but a Climax with this title fits a 10th anniversary almost embarrassingly well. An individual BanG Dream! 10th Anniversary! Premium Booster Pack already guarantees a hot-stamped card, so the SIR needed an identity stronger than simply being shinier than everything around it.

Giving Kasumi the full-art serial treatment, after the Japanese release had already reserved its lone AGR for the same Climax, does exactly that. Better still, the card stays connected to play through Kasumi’s CX Combo. For an anniversary product trying to represent a huge franchise, making its singular chase a Kasumi-centered card literally called Toward Our New Future is a remarkably clean choice.
