Tokino Sora’s Summer hologram SEC Has a Detail Worth a Closer Look

Tokino Sora’s hEB01-001 SEC takes a brand new red Oshi card and gives it the set’s most personal treatment, pairing bright summer artwork with a replica handwritten comment from Sora.

Behind the Foil

Summer hologram does not exactly hide what it is going for here. Tokino Sora is framed by palm leaves and a glowing seaside sky, smiling directly toward the viewer while a handwritten message stretches across the artwork. The Japanese card database credits the illustration to むっちりしいたけ, while Sora’s official talent profile separately lists Ordan as her character illustrator.

The distinction matters. This is a new card illustration rather than simply another presentation of her standard character artwork. The handwritten message is the SEC’s real finishing touch, though, and the publisher specifically describes these comments as replicas rather than personally signed cards.

「ねえ、もっと近くにこない?」 Roughly, “Hey, won’t you come a little closer?”

That little line fits the set almost suspiciously well. Summer hologram is built around the theme “That Summer Spent with Your Oshi,” so having Sora effectively invite the viewer closer makes the SEC treatment feel connected to the entire concept instead of pasted on as a rarity gimmick. Sora also carries a little extra history into the card.

Her official profile identifies her as hololive Production’s first virtual idol, with her debut dating to September 7, 2017. She already appeared as an Oshi holomem in the Tokino Sora & AZKi Start Deck in 2025, but hEB01-001 introduces a new red Oshi option for her. Our full Summer hologram set review covers the wider parallel lineup, but this SEC is a good example of why the top end works so well when viewed one card at a time.

Competitive History

There is an actual game plan underneath all that beach scenery. At the end of your turn, hEB01-001 can put the top card of your deck into your holo Power when both your Center and Collab holomem are Tokino Sora. If you also have a 2nd holomem on the stage, it draws a card. That steadily builds the resource used for its Oshi skill, which can spend four holo Power to Bloom one of your Tokino Sora holomem using another Sora from the deck while also reducing the Colorless cost of that holomem’s Arts for the turn.

COVER’s official recommended deck uses that ability to help establish multiple 2nd Tokino Sora cards, particularly hEB01-010, which can repeat its Art by resting an active 2nd Tokino Sora in the Back position. The pieces clearly support one another. What we do not have yet is evidence that hEB01-001 is a broadly proven tournament staple in the newly released English format. The official list demonstrates a coherent archetype strategy, not a tournament record, and four days after release that distinction is worth keeping intact.

FoilWire Take

The SEC is where hEB01-001 really clicks as a collector card. The new red Oshi design already gives Sora players something mechanically different, but the premium version adds a detail that actually belongs with the artwork and the set’s whole summer outing concept. That is much more interesting than rarity for rarity’s sake.

Sora smiling beneath the palms while asking you to come a little closer is wonderfully on theme, and the printed handwriting gives the illustration an extra bit of personality without pretending to be an autograph. For a talent whose history stretches back to the beginning of hololive itself, it is a cheerful little card that manages to feel both new and unmistakably Sora.
